Proud to be Chubby Filter

In March 2025, TikTok released a photo filter using AI technology that made users appear chubby. People used this filter to create humorous content, often mocking certain body types, which sparked backlash for promoting body shaming.

 

As a result, the filter was removed. However, removing the filter altogether further alienated the plus-size community. In response, Dove launched a new AI-powered “Pround To Be Chubby Filter” that transforms users’ appearances to resemble the bodies of respected plus-size models.
